The International Day of Families shall create awareness of the role of families and family policies in regards to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 13) of the UN: which include improving education and integration of climate measure into policies. 

The International Day of Families provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families and to increase knowledge of the social, economic and demographic processes affecting them."
